Grzegorz Swiderski 652b0a8a98 scripts: domains: Support initialization only from YAML
By requiring a full-on YAML fragment, the Domains class can rely on
pykwalify to do the heavy lifting with validating types and structure.
Remove support for loading domains from a dictionary, so that we don't
ever have to replicate the same checks on the input, and we can instead
have a single entry point.

Grzegorz Swiderski 05d7769073 sysbuild: Do not exclude images from domains.yaml
The recent support for BUILD_ONLY images was implemented by excluding
them from `domains.yaml`, in order to crudely prevent them from being
picked up by `west flash`. Arguably, this is incorrect or unexpected,
because the sysbuild documentation defines a "domain" as:

Every Zephyr CMake build system managed by sysbuild.

Another consequence is that, given a build-only `<image>`, this makes it
impossible to pass `--domain <image>` to `west flash`, `west debug`, and
ironically `west build`.

To fix that, `domains.yaml` should again represent all domains, and the
build-only ones should be indicated in another way. Enter `flash_order`:
a new top-level key in the domains YAML schema. It contains the default
sequence of images used by `west flash`, where the build-only images are
excluded, and the order is influenced by `sysbuild_add_dependencies()`.

Torsten Rasmussen 8408af6d7c scripts: west commands to support --domain
This commit extends the west commands build, flash, and debug to support
--domain when having multiple domains (images) defined in a domains.yaml
build file.

The domains.yaml uses the following yaml format to specify the
build directory of each domain in the multi image build:
> default: <domain-n>
> domains:
> <domain-1>:
> build_dir: <build_dir-domain-1>
> <domain-2>:
> build_dir: <build_dir-domain-2>
> ...

`west <build|flash|debug>` has been extended to support
`--domain <domain>`.

`west build` calls CMake to create the build system, and if `--domain`
is given, then the build tool will be invoked afterwards for the
specified domain.

`west flash` will default flash all domains, but `--domain <domain>`
argument can be used to select a specific domain to flash, for example:
> west flash --domain mcuboot

`west debug` only a single domain can be debugged at any given time.
If `--domain` is not specified, then the default domain specified in the
domains.yml file will be used.
Users can still select a different domain, for example with:
> west debug --domain mcuboot

Martí Bolívar f752c5eeec west build: fix --pristine on early build system failure
The west build command has historically tried not to rm -rf
directories that don't look like zephyr build directories. The way it
does this is by checking for the presence of a CMake cache
with a Zephyr-specific variable (ZEPHYR_TOOLCHAIN_VARIANT) in it.

The problem with this approach is that if the build system fails
before this cache variable is set, the directory doesn't look like a
zephyr build directory, and therefore west build won't make it
pristine even with --pristine=always, even though build directories
resulting from failed runs like that are almost certainly
irrecoverably broken and need to be made pristine before anything will
work.

This leads to users having to rm -rf their directories manually, which
is not so nice.

To avoid this from happening, just check for ZEPHYR_BASE, which is
set early on in ZephyrConfig.cmake in 'modern' zephyr build systems.
Keep the ZEPHYR_TOOLCHAIN_VARIANT check in place for compatibility.

We could consider being less selective and just using shutil.rmtree()
whenever we have --pristine=always, but that would be a bigger
behavioral change than I'm comfortable doing without a good reason.

Martí Bolívar 6e4c2b9be9 scripts: clean up west build/flash/debug help
Just changes to the west help output; no functional changes expected.

Make option descriptions lowercase to match the argparse module's
conventions. When multiple sentences are required, move them to parser
prolog/epilog or argument group description sections.

Clarify some points that have confused multiple people.

Martí Bolívar eb95bed552 scripts: west_commands: fix argument handling with runners.yaml
Refactor the code to support the new runners.yaml file created by the
build system.

Compared to fishing around in the CMake cache, this makes it trivial
to put all the command line arguments to a runner-based command on
equal footing, regardless of if they're defined in the runners package
proper or defined in run_common.py.

This allows board.cmake files to do things like this:

   board_set_runner_args(foo
     --bin-file=${PROJECT_BINARY_DIR}/my-signed.bin)

While at it, make some other cleanups:

- Stop using the obsolete and deprecated west.cmake module while we're
here in favor of the zcmake.py module which was added to Zephyr a long
time ago. Yikes. I had forgotten this was still here.

- Stop using west.util's wrap function in favor of raw use of
textwrap. The west function splits on hyphens, which is breaking
  runner names like "em-starterkit".

- Clean up the --context output a bit

Carles Cufi 4a504446d7 west: flash: Fix exception on build folder guessing

Carles Cufi 41f1f648f6 west: runners: Guess build folder
When using a build folder format with build.dir-fmt that includes any
parameters that need resolving, the west runners cannot find the folder
since the required information (board, source dir or app) is not
available.
Add a very simple heuristic to support the case where a build folder
starts with a hardcoded prefix (for example 'build/') and a single build
is present under that prefix.
The heuristic is gated behind a new configuration option:
build.guess-dir

Carles Cufi 98980c6b7c west: build: Configurable build folder format
Add the possibility of configuring the build folder format in west's
configuration system.
The build.dir-fmt configuration option controls how west will create
build folders when not specified, the following parameters are currently
accepted:

- board: The board name
- source_dir: The relative path from CWD to the source directory
- app: The name of the source directory

If CWD is below source_dir in the directory hierarchy then source_dir is
set to an empty string.

This means that if one sets:

[build]
dir-fmt = build/{board}/{source_dir}

Then when building samples/hello_world from zephyr's root for the
reel_board the build folder will be:

./build/reel_board/samples/hello_world

but when building it from inside the samples/hello_world folder it will
instead be:

./build/reel_board

Carles Cufi 49c4b1c303 west: Use find_build_dir in run_common
In preparation for upcoming changes to the way the default build folder
is defined, switch to using the common find_build_dir() function in the
runners.
This actually changes the behavior for the west build command slightly,
since the current working directory (cwd) will now be checked after the
default build folder ('build'). This brings it in line with what is
used for the runners.

Carles Cufi 31bdad5299 west: Implement CMake helpers in scripts/west_commands
Move the existing CMake and build functionality from the west repository
to zephyr. The rationale behind this move is that it's very tightly
coupled with the Zephyr build system and is only used by the extension
commands implemented in the zephyr tree.
If additional extension commands in third-party repos want to use the
functionality they can add $ZEPHYR_BASE/scripts/west_commands to the
Python system path.

The implmentations in the west repo will be deprecated.
